The month of June sees a new videoart program focused on independent filmmakers on the Streaming Festival. This program - a reflection on today’s artists whose abilities allow them to integrate the cinematic process from writing to editing with stunning results - will take you on a journey through style and independent filmmaking.
From the outright eerie but captivating atmosphere and visual techniques of Ashleigh Nankivell "Helping Johnny remember", via the collage of 8mm footage, letters and pictures that were used in the video-essay "Mimesis" to the powerful animated feature The return of John Frum with an equally powerful sound design, made by Christian Schlaeffer.

This months program is based on a contrasting perspective, the purpose of which is to give insight into how documentaries are made and stories are told. The films each have their own style and use cinematic creativity to capture reality.
Naturally the artists’ viewpoints differ from each other, whether in their subjects or in the way they created their work. This program is not only about presenting various methods used to record and show reality, but it’s also about promoting the filmmakers and their works.
